Ingredients I bought (with equivalent est. prices of used portions) :
1 Roll Pizza Dough - CHF 3.80 ( I used only 1/2 = CHF 1.90) 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil - Used my pantry stock 1 Pack of 20 bacon slices - CHF 3.70 (I used only 1/4 = CHF 0.95) 1 Pack 6 pieces White Onion - CHF 2.25 (I used only 1 = CHF 0.37) 1 Bar of Mozzarella Cheese - CHF 2.50 (I used only 1/2 = CHF 1.25) 1 Bar of Raclette Cheese - CHF 10.65 (I used only 1/10 = CHF 1.06)
How I made it:
1. Spread the Pizza Dough over a baking pan. 2. Apply 2 tablespoons olive oil on the surface of the dough. 3. Tear up 5 strips of bacon and spread equally over the dough. 4. Cut Onion into strips and coat with 1 tablespoon olive oil. 5. Sprinkle cut onion strips over the entire pizza. 6. Cut Mozzarella and Raclette cheeses and sprinkle evenly over the pizza. 7. Bake Pizza in pre-heated oven at 200 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes.
The pizza just cost me CHF 5.53. I think that's cheap considering 5 people can share it and the amount of toppings are more than the usual.
My wife always buys pizza at the Vevey Saturday Market located at the Vevey Old Town. Last week, it was my turn to buy pizza at the old town. While waiting for my order, the idea of creating my own pizza came to mind. After all, Switzerland has the best tasting cheeses, tomatoes and onions I've tasted so far, so why not try making my own. Below is the list of ingredients I bought for my first homemade pizza and how I made it. Note that I placed prices beside each ingredient. The prices correspond to the amount I used in making one (1) pizza. This I did just to give you an idea how cheap it is to make your own homemade delicious pizza for Five persons.
